SCR is currently OPEN for submissions.
These guidelines may change from time to time. Be sure to review them prior to submitting.
The basics
- Please send one poem pasted into the body of an email to StoneCircleReview@gmail.com with the title of your poem as the subject line. Do not send your poem as an attachment.
- There is no need for a cover letter. Start you email by repeating the title, then the poem itself, followed by a brief third-person biography. Be sure to include your social media handles in your biography.
The details
- Stone Circle Review will only consider poems that have not been previously published. Previous publication includes being posted on personal websites or on any other social media platform.
- Simultaneous submissions are more than welcome as long as you promise to withdraw the poem as soon as possible after learning it’s no longer available.
- I’ll try to respond to submissions within four weeks. If you don’t get a response in that time, please let me know.
- If your poem is declined or you withdraw it from consideration, please wait two months before submitting again.
- If your poem is accepted, please wait six months before submitting again.
- Stone Circle Review will not tolerate transphobic, racist, ableist, or misogynistic language and any submissions including such language will be deleted and the submitter will immediately be blocked.
- Make sure your poem is finished before you send it. Except for minor corrections, a revision request for a poem that has been received will not be entertained. You are welcome to withdraw the poem if you would prefer it not be published as submitted.
- If you deviate from these guidelines your submission will most likely be declined without being read.
- Stone Circle intends to NOT publish poems generated by AI. If you submit something that we later determine to have been generated by an AI like ChatGPT, we will immediately take down your poem and will not publish any of your work in the future. (The basis for this guideline was similar verbiage developed by Reservoir Road Literary Review and is used with their permission.)
Publication rights
- Stone Circle Review requests first-time publication rights as well as ongoing archival rights on the website.
- All other rights rights revert to authors upon publication.
- By submitting your work, you affirm that you currently own the all rights to it.
- If your poem is republished elsewhere, please acknowledge Stone Circle Review as where it was first published.
- Unfortunately, as a small one-person operation, Stone Circle Review cannot offer contributors payment. However, if you have any news about your work, such as a new book or a reading, let me know and so it can be boosted on the Stone Circle Review Twitter page.

- Stone Circle Review plans to nominate poems for the the Pushcart and Best of the Net prizes.
