Summoned

by Kathryn Knight Sonntag

pre-dawn

orange on drawn curtains. pull on this
sweatshirt, creak floors past babies,

pass kitchen counters—a rain
jacket, boots, an open

door.

olympus, sentinel of my eastern
sky, bids eyes open.

three

tired, blinking lids.
